Clinical Pilates, Pilates Physio

Our semi-private clinical exercise classes run for 40 minutes, with up to four class members per class. The classes are run by our highly trained physiotherapists who will create an individualised exercise program based on your problem and personal goals. This will allow us to make your classes challenging, but also very safe.

Our physiotherapist will be supervising the class, and modifying and progressing the exercises depending on how you’re feeling on the day. The exercises you will be completing will be based on your preferences, but will incorporate reformer Pilates, as well as strength conditioning with our fully equipped gym.

Understanding Chiropractic Care: What It Treats and How It Can Help You

Chiropractic care is a popular and effective approach to treating a wide range of musculoskeletal and neurological issues. At its core, chiropractic care focuses on the relationship between the spine and the nervous system, with the belief that proper alignment and function can lead to improved overall health. Here’s a closer look at what chiropractic care can treat and how it may benefit you.

1. Back Pain

One of the most common reasons people seek chiropractic care is for back pain. Whether it’s acute pain from an injury or chronic pain that has developed over time, chiropractors use various techniques to address misalignments in the spine that may be contributing to discomfort. Techniques like spinal manipulation and adjustments aim to restore proper alignment and reduce inflammation, helping alleviate pain and improve mobility.

2. Neck Pain

Neck pain can arise from a variety of sources, including poor posture, repetitive strain, or injury. Chiropractors often address neck pain with targeted adjustments and gentle manipulations to relieve tension and improve range of motion. By focusing on spinal alignment, chiropractic care can help reduce muscle strain and nerve irritation in the neck area.

3. Headaches and Migraines

Headaches and migraines can be debilitating and have various underlying causes. Chiropractic care may provide relief by addressing spinal misalignments that contribute to tension headaches or migraines. Techniques used in chiropractic care, such as adjustments and soft tissue therapy, can help reduce muscle tension and improve circulation, potentially decreasing the frequency and severity of headaches.

4. Sciatica

Sciatica is characterized by pain that radiates along the sciatic nerve, which extends from the lower back down to the legs. This condition is often caused by a herniated disc or spinal misalignment that puts pressure on the nerve. Chiropractors use specific adjustments and therapeutic techniques to relieve pressure on the sciatic nerve, which can help reduce pain and improve function.

5. Postural Correction

Poor posture can lead to a range of health issues, including back pain, neck pain, and even headaches. Chiropractic care can assist in correcting poor posture by addressing spinal misalignments and recommending exercises to strengthen the muscles that support proper posture. By improving alignment and body mechanics, chiropractic care can help prevent posture-related problems and promote overall well-being.

6. Sports Injuries

Whether you’re an athlete or simply enjoy recreational sports, injuries can occur. Chiropractic care can be beneficial in managing sports-related injuries by addressing joint dysfunctions, muscle imbalances, and other factors that may contribute to pain and limited mobility. Techniques such as soft tissue therapy and specific adjustments can aid in recovery and enhance performance.

7. Acute to Chronic Pain

From sudden injuries to ongoing chronic pain conditions, chiropractic care offers a holistic approach to managing discomfort. By focusing on spinal health and overall body function, chiropractors aim to address the root causes of pain and help patients find relief through non-invasive methods.

8. Stretching and Strength Training

In addition to treating specific conditions, chiropractic care often includes recommendations for stretching and strength training exercises. These exercises can help support spinal health, improve flexibility, and strengthen the muscles surrounding the spine. By incorporating these practices into your routine, you can enhance the benefits of chiropractic care and promote long-term wellness.

Chiropractic care offers a comprehensive approach to managing and treating a variety of conditions related to the spine and nervous system. Whether you’re dealing with back pain, neck pain, headaches, or sports injuries, chiropractic techniques can help address misalignments, reduce pain, and improve overall function.
